Fresh Start - New Blog!

Hello everyone!

I know what you're thinking, long time no see. It's actually been over a year since my last post!

I don't know if anyone will remember or will even read this but I used to enjoy blogging and regularly posted on this blog, but over the past year other things have taken priority and I felt I ended up not having as much spare time so unfortunately it appears the blog became abandoned.

I have always continued to read blogs and watch beauty and fashion videos on YouTube and it has still always interested me. I now feel I am beginning to miss being a part of it so have made the decision to get myself back on the blogging scene.

I felt that after such a long break if I am going to get back into being a regular blogger I needed a complete fresh start so I have made a new blog, which I have linked below.

I realise that starting a new blog from scratch will be difficult in terms of building up readers and followers again, however I have made the decision to return to blogging to fulfil my personal hobby and having a following and some feedback to act on would just be a great bonus.

I would really appreciate it if you could take a few moments to check out my new blog and let me know of any comments and feedback that you may have that could help me with my return!

Thank you if you have taken the time to read this and I hope you will continue to follow me over on my new blog.

My 18th Birthday!

Hello everyone! First of all, I'm so sorry I've been absent from my blog for so long.. I've been so busy and was seriously lacking in motivation. On a lighter note, I have just spent the weekend celebrating my 18th birthday!

I had such a great weekend. I went out for a meal with my family on Friday, then spent the weekend in Brighton with my best friend Rosie. I did a lot of shopping so keep an eye out for hauls and what I got for my birthday posts too! For now though, here are some photos of my weekend in Brighton..
Credit to my friend Rosie for the majority of the photography above. She also has a youtube channel where she does beauty and fashion videos. I know she is planning to upload some hauls of what she brought in Brighton and will also be uploading a vlog of the weekend so make sure to subscribe to her here if you'd like to see more of that!

Apologies again for being missing in action for a while, I hope you will all still enjoy to read along and I promise I have lots of more exciting posts coming up.

My Top Picks | Topshop Spring 2013

Although looking at the weather you would think it's the middle of winter, it actually is Spring! I've been spending a lot of time browsing online recently and thought I would show you a couple of my favourite items that I've seen Topshop have in stock this season.
Untitled #9

Links:   1   2   3   4   5

1. I really love this Hawaiian print dress. The pattern is so different to many things you would usually see and I love the cut out section at the front of the dress too. This would make for a perfect holiday outfit!

2. This top by Motel certainly caught my eye. I love how it's cropped but has the long sleeves so could be worn with shorts and not look too much. The geometric pattern is lovely too and everything about this top looks perfect for this year.

3. I will always love my floral prints so of course this top stood out to me. The colours and print of this little sun top are great for spring and summer and again this would be great for holidays too.

4. I'm a big fan of statement jewellery at the moment and this necklace is a perfect example. I really like the use of mixed metals and think this would look really great with a basic top.

5. I actually have a similar pair of sandals to these that I got a few years ago from H&M and I really love but they have probably had their day soon, so these would be a perfect replacement. I think these are the perfect pair of sandals to go with any summer daytime outfit and I love how they have the closed toe and ankle strap.

So there are just a few of my Topshop Spring 2013 top picks.. what are your thoughts on Topshop this season?

NOTD | Barry M Combo

I have realised that despite constantly painting my nails and purchasing nail polishes, I never seem to blog about them. I thought that another idea for my blog would be to occasionally do these nails of the day/week posts where I just show you what I'm sporting on my nails that particular week.. so here is the first!

For this look I have gone for a Barry M combo as they are one of my favourite nail polish brands and make up about a third of my collection. The base shade is Barry M's Gelly hi-shine paint in Lychee which is a recent addition to my nail polish collection and is the perfect nude shade! I love this colour but thought it looked a little plain on the nails, so I decided to spice up the look by adding a top coat of glitter. For this I used another nail polish by Barry M in Amethyst Glitter and painted a fairly thin layer of the glitter onto the base colour to create this look.

I think this is quite a classic nail look. I have found it goes well with almost any outfit and would look great for any occasion too! This is definitely a combo I will be wearing again.

What colour are you sporting on your nails this week?

MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick

I have finally made my first MAC lipstick purchase! I'm so excited about this, it's definitely been a long time coming. I hear so much about these lipsticks on blogs and youtube but I never got round to getting one because there isn't a MAC store or counter anywhere within miles of where I live for some reason.

The only option I really had in this case, would be to order online but I worried it would be much more difficult that way, as you can't really see the colours properly, however the other week I decided to finally take the plunge!

Then came the very difficult decision of which shade to go for, and considering that I had recently been after a new coral shade of lipstick and after a lot of googling to see swatches of the different shades, I went for Vegas Volt.

This shade is in the Amplified Creme finish. I'm not entirely sure about the differences between all the finishes of the MAC lipsticks so do let me know in the comments if you do, but I believe this one of the more creamy and moisturising formulas, which I really like as it doesn't feel too drying on the lips and has pretty good lasting power.

I absolutely love this shade. It is the perfect coral that can be worn in several ways to suit any spring or summer look. I have quite a light coverage of the lipstick on in the photo but it could also be built up to be very vibrant colour too depending on your mood.

I am very happy with this purchase and choice of shade overall and I can definitely see myself buying a couple more shades in the not too distant future!

What is your favourite MAC lipstick? Any recommendations?

Monthly Favourites | March

I can't believe it's April already.. although you wouldn't think it considering the weather at the moment! Of course, the start of a new month means another monthly favourites post is in order, so here are some of the things I have been loving throughout March!
The first product I am featuring is from a range I have mentioned a lot recently and have been a favourite of mine for a while now. It is of course the Barry M Gelly nail paints! These nail polishes have such an amazing formula and come in so many lovely shades. This month I have particularly been loving the shade Papaya, which I just think is a perfect Spring colour.

The next products I have featured are from the range of Aussie hair products. I have used these for long time now but have found myself particularly loving them this month. I use the 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor which is a deep conditioner and the Miracle Hair Insurance leave in conditioner. These just leave my hair feeling so soft and smell lovely too!

I have also been really loving using the Real Techniques brushes. My particular favourites that I have been using everyday this month are the Buffing Brush, which I use for foundation, the Contour Brush which i use for blush or contouring, and the Brow Brush which obviously I use for my brows. These are such affordable and amazing quality brushes and I really want to get my hands on some more!

The Dermalogica Sheer Tint Redness Relief product has been a saviour for me throughout this past month. This product is great for relieving redness which I get particularly on my cheeks. It is green in colour which helps to cancel out the redness and correct your skin tone. This is also a great product to own for the summer and holidays if you're anything like me and burn very easily, as I have also found it really great in the past for concealing the redness of sunburn on my face.

The final product to feature in this months favourites is a recent purchase. It is The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Butter. I have really enjoyed using this. The product itself is quite thick, rather than runny, which feels very luxurious on the skin and feels like a much more expensive product. Of course the amazing peach scent is a bonus too!

What have you been loving recently?
